Hello and welcome to the Golf Rules Quiz. It is hoped it will be a fun and entertaining way to improve members' knowledge of the rules of golf, from the beginner to the veteran golfer.

A prize of a half a dozen Titleist Pro V1 balls will be awarded to the winner. A sleeve each will go to 2nd and 3rd. In the event of a tie, the contest will be decided on the back 9, 6, 3 etc. If this fails to decide the winner, an open draw will be held.

Members should sent their entry by email to rules@athlonegolfclub.ie with your answers in the following format. 1 a, 2 b, 3 c, etc.......18 b. Be sure to include your name and indicate if you are a junior member.

Rules of the Rules Quiz
1) open to members of Athlone Golf Club, one entry per member
2) one answer per quiestion
3) summer competition conditions apply
4) be aware of local rules
5) all matchplay games are scratch i.e. no shots given/received
6) reply by email as outlined above
7) closing date is Oct 31st, winners will be announced in early Nov
8) enter by paper copy if you wish, available at the club
9) the Captain's decision is final in all matters relating to the quiz
